MAJESTIC 17 ROOM STONE HOME OFFERS A UNIQUE HISTORY, LONG POND, POCONOS, PA



The original owner, Herman Kuhenbeaker, built this amazing stone structure in 1927.  The stone was hauled on horse-drawn sleighs from nearby Pimple Hill.  The sleighs made it easier to glide downhill in the winter months with the heavy stone.    The surrounding land was used to grow blueberries sold by the truckloads to New York City bakeries.  In the fall the land was enjoyed by sportsmen who hunted grouse, bear and white tail deer.

Located in northeastern Pennsylvania, the Lehigh River originates in a series of glacial bogs and marshes in the area of Pocono Peak Lake in the Gouldsboro area about 15 miles southeast of Scranton.  It is a significant sub-basin within the Delaware River watershed. As it works it way through Thornhurst, a siginificant section runs through Riverside Estates, a private community with great access to the river.  And the fishing is amazing.
